A special reception of “Working Together – Building Business,” co-hosted by the China General Chamber of Commerce — USA (CGCC) and Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), was held at CCA headquarter on Aug. 22, 2017.

Ambassador Zhang Qiyue, consul general of China in New York, Gordon Johnson, assemblyman of the New Jersey Legislature, Steven Fulop, mayor of Jersey City, Chen Xu, chairman of CGCC and president and CEO of Bank of China USA, and Andrew Silverstein, chairman of CIANJ spoke at the event. James Simpson, board member and senior advisor to the chairman of CCA, welcomed everyone in attendance on behalf of CCA Chairman and President Ning Yuan. About 130 representatives from Chinese and local enterprises attended the event.

In her keynote speech, Ambassador Zhang Qiyue noted that New Jersey’s location provides a rich endowment of infrastructure, education, innovation and talent resources. She encouraged New Jersey and relevant provinces in China to enhance their interaction and cooperation so that all parties can share a bigger piece of the pie and add more positive energy to the relationship between China and the United States.

Recalling his pleasant visit to China last September with a NJ Assembly delegation, Assemblyman Johnson said that New Jersey should and will further its cooperation with China. The assembly is willing to make more of an effort to promote this endeavor.

Agreeing with Assemblyman Johnson, Mayor Fulop said an increasing number of Chinese companies like CCA have been doing business in New Jersey in recent years. These companies, he said, have made tremendous contributions to the local economy and employment base, for which he is very grateful. The Jersey City government would like to attract more Chinese companies to New Jersey and support them in their business.

In his address, Mr. Simpson said that since CCA put down roots in the United States 32 years ago, it has achieved multiple successes in both its business and its commitment to giving back to the community. As the US subsidiary of one of the world’s largest investment and construction giants, CCA has been actively making joint efforts in promoting collaboration, cooperation and a win-win spirit in advancing the bilateral relationship between China and the United States. Headquartered in Jersey City, the company is committed to making contributions to the economic and industrial development of New Jersey, as well as playing a positive role in building a healthy and stable connection among the enterprises from China and New Jersey.

Those attending the event visited the sales gallery of CCA’s latest local residential development, Park and Shore, in the waterfront neighborhood. Feeding the soaring local demand for luxury condos, Park and Shore is a perfect answer to the increasingly prosperous Jersey City and its real estate market.
