PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Located at the intersection of Broadway and Fulton Street in Lower Manhattan, the MTA Fulton Street Transit Center is regarded as New York City’s new landmark and known as the “Grand Central Station” of Lower Manhattan. Its unique design includes a glass and steel dome that brings daylight deep into the station, showing both architectural ingenuity and sustainable engineering.

The interior of the building features architecturally exposed structural steel, glass storefronts, stainless steel panels, glass fiber reinforced concrete column covers and ceilings and granite flooring. It is decorated with a cable-net structure with reflective artwork panels.

The experience for the 300,000 commuters who travel through Fulton Center daily has been greatly improved by wider corridors and new mezzanines. The center provides access to the A, C, J, Z, R, 2, 3, 4 and 5 subway lines, as well as the E line, 1 line and PATH trains.

The new 180,000-square-foot MTA transit building is a multi-functional architectural complex that also provides 65,000 square feet of commercial space for shops, kiosks and restaurants.
