PROJECT DESCRIPTION

CCASC, Inc. was awarded the River Bluff High School contract in January 2011. The two-story, 520,000-square-foot state-of-the-art high school consists of a three-level, steel-framed building with masonry load-bearing walls.

The school features offices, classrooms, a kitchen, laboratories, a competition gym with 2,100 seats and portable scoreboard, a practice gym, an auditorium with 1,100 seats, advanced performance AV system and orchestra platform. The project’s innovative design features include a large curtainwall, translucent panel and skylights to maximize daylight. The building’s bricks were made of raw materials harvested from the site. The project’s energy-efficient HVAC system was designed and constructed to optimize energy performance and enhanced commissioning. As one of the most advanced high schools in South Carolina, the project has achieved LEED for Schools Silver Certification.
